JACOB'S ARRIVAL (originally written: 12/2005)

Actually, it has been almost 2 weeks since his arrival. On Monday, November 21st we welcomed our son, Jacob Logan to our family. I still can't believe he's here... but the lack of sleep these past few days would prove otherwise. =S
HieRan and I went to the hospital the night before since she was having contractions already. After several hours of walking the hallways, and monitoring her contractions it was time to get to work. 30 minutes later, and with no complications whatsoever out came our son. 6 pounds 3 ounces, and 19 inches long... a little on the light side, but hey - that's why I'll be feeding him SPAM when he gets older!! *hahaha* ;)
Jacob's big sister, Mia, has been great through it all. Here's a good suggestion if anyone plans on having a second child out there. Buy your firstborn a gift, wrapped up, and tell him/her that it's from the new baby. We did this for Mia, telling her that her brother has already gotten her a gift, and she couldn't stop thanking him when she opened it. She's only 3, but already so helpful, and so loving of her baby brother. I pray that they'll always be close to one another as they get older, something I'll make a conscious effort to teach them. For now, the reminders aren't necessary - she already shows deep affection for Jacob.
Speaking of Jacob, he's doing his thing, that's for sure! He eats pretty regularly every 2-3 hours, and poops like a mad man!! *ahhhh yes, what a life!* He's already had a few visitors, family that's close to us - and we're expecting more to arrive in the month of December... waitasec... it IS December, isn't it?!? *where has the time gone?!?!?*
Uh-oh... (right on cue), time for Jacob's 3am feeding (boy are my nipples sore!). *hahaha - sooooo kidding!!!*
**A special thank you to my wife, HieRan, for taking care of herself and of our son through her pregnancy. Even with all the things that I admire about her, she continues to amaze me. I wouldn't be a fraction of the person I am today if not for her. The list of things I am thankful for would be too long to post here. So I will simply thank you for being my friend, my wife, and the mommy of our for two beautiful children, Mia and Jacob - I love you so much.**
